Horses for Sale

Are you selling a natural horse?

If you have a horse for sale who is barefoot, has had Natural Horsemanship training of one method or another, and/or needs to be pasture-kept (don't they all?), we would love to list them here on our sale page.

It takes a long time to develop good feet, soft responsiveness, and a solid, trusting relationship with our horses. The last thing anyone wants to do is sell that horse to someone who has no understanding of the accomplishment.

With the growing number of informed horsepeople, the demand for barefoot, naturally trained, well-socialized horses will only increase. So let's make them easy to find.

Celeste - Adopted with her pal Bunny!

Celeste came in with Bunny (below) and they are best buds. Celeste is a drop-dead-gorgeous, 16hh, 16 y/o flea-bitten gray Quarter Horse with big, soft eyes. We were told that her previous owners paid $10,000 for her, but soon after decided they wanted to do speed sports which is not Celeste's forte (her natural speed is slow to medium, though she can pick it up if asked). Thankfully we were able to intervene before this beautiful horse went to auction and then most likely to a Mexico slaughter house where horses suffer a slow inhumane death. Celeste is healthy and  sound, has hard barefoot hooves that go in the mountains and over rocks with ease. She ties, loads like a dream, is good for our barefoot farrier and is super fun to ride. With her long ground covering stride, naturally slow, smooth trot, and canter that's rocking-chair comfortable, she's a great confidence builder. Celeste has been on numerous rocky, mountainous trail rides over rocks, up steep inclines and declines and has tons of stamina and likes to lead the herd. We are riding her in a bitless bridle and she took to it like a duck to water! Her previous owners rode her in a gentle snaffle. Celeste will do best with an advanced beginner or a beginner with a trainer because she's  responsive to leg cues. Please consider taking her pal Bunny as well, they are BFF's :)

Below, the second picture is of Celeste's first time on a wooden bridge obstacle at a friend's house. She hopped on as if she does it everyday, then promptly started dozing while my husband fumbled with the camera :D

Bunny - Adopted with her buddy Celeste!

Bunny is a wise and kind old soul. She was a rescue horse who came to us excruciatingly underweight, and is still recovering from her lack of nourishment. As with Celeste (above) we were able to intervene to save Bunny from a sure trip to a Mexico slaughter house where horses suffer a slow inhumane death. She is in her mid-twenties, 15.1 hands, healthy, sound, oh-so-sweet, and has many happy years left to share. We have been working with her on the ground and have found her to be smart-as-a-whip as she gets used to this "natural stuff" of following the softest feel. She can even do groundwork without a halter! We were told she had been ridden extensively in the past; apparently she was raced as a youngster, and was a trail horse and broodmare after that. Our farrier, Ivan Neel, recently holistically trimmed her feet and his assessment was that she has gorgeous, hard feet. Though we believe she has a long history of under-saddle experience, until she gains more weight and is able to carry a saddle and rider, we are giving her away as  as a pet/companion until then. We have noticed that Bunny bonds VERY quickly with any animal or human that is kind to her (her last pasture companion was an ostrich whom she adored!), and she's happy to fit in with any herd or species of animal. Have cows, goats, camels, sheep, etc? She's a rare find who is happy to share her space with all. Bunny and Celeste are best pals, they came in together, and if you want them both, they would love you forever :) We think Bunny is a precious find, come see for yourself!

Bailey SOLD!

Bailey (Ro Scoot Samantha) is a beautiful 13 year old registered Quarter Horse mare with a glowing barrel horse background. This girl has get-up-and-go when you ask for it, but has a gentle, calm spirit that makes her a fantastic, trustworthy horse for beginners, young one's, and husbands :) . Bailey has had extensive Natural Horsemanship training, and she is soft as butter. She can go in a bit, though like all the horses here, she goes just as well in a bitless bridle. Her feet are tough as nails and can comfortably carry a rider over the rockiest of terrain barefoot. She has been ridden on the road, in traffic, in the mountains, around bikers, motorcycles, dogs, etc., and is solid and dependable no matter what we ask of her. Congratulations Symeri, have fun on the trails!

Oreo SOLD!

This adorable 11 year old Appy gelding was trained and used as a roping and ranch horse in Montana before taking his next cushy job as a much-loved trail horse. He is the go-to trail horse for guests, youngsters, and beginners due to his solid and kind temperament. He has been ridden extensively in the mountains, in traffic, around semis, atvs, dirt bikes, dogs, etc., and has proven to be steady and calm in all situations. He is kept barefoot and has never had a need for boots, even in the mountains. Oreo is a shy guy and requires a kind home with gentle hand.

Congratulations to Nichole and her family! What a great fit! Here's Oreo getting spoiled rotten in his new home, and lookin' pretty snazzy in his new blue halter.
